Growing Up

Adam Jennings is running for Congress because he believes every child should have the opportunity to live up to their God-given potential, regardless if they are born rich, poor, or somewhere in the middle.

In high school, Adam worked forty hours a week for minimum wage after his family’s bankruptcy and the repossession of their home and family car. After graduating from high school, Adam was accepted to college but couldn’t afford tuition. He moved in with his brother’s family and began working through college part-time in jobs at the University of Minnesota and later as a line worker at the Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul.

Serving Our Country

After 9/11, Adam signed up for the Minnesota Army National Guard, where he served eight years – including being deployed to Kosovo.

In the Guard, Adam had the privilege of serving alongside some of the finest people he has known, many of whom made great personal sacrifices to help protect American values. He also gained a deep, personal understanding of the many sacrifices made by the families of our service members while their loved ones are abroad.

Career

When Adam returned to the States, he earned an MBA at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management and began working in business and finance, eventually working in a small team overseeing a $100 billion investment portfolio. Just prior to focusing on his campaign full-time, Adam was an asset manager with Mortenson Properties.

In 2011, Adam started a small business that provides clean, safe affordable housing to families in the North Metropolitan suburbs. His company has partnered with the VA to provide permanent housing for homeless vets in an effort to promote stability and offer those who have fallen back the ability to get back on their feet again. In the Army soldiers are taught to leave no one behind. There is no reason the same shouldn’t be true once we return home and return to civilian life.

Family & Community

Adam has been married to Megan for 13 years, and they have two children. He serves on the local Fire District Board and the board of the local food shelf. He is a lifetime member of the VFW and he is a deacon at the church where he has been a member for 17 years.

Adam knows how much Minnesota invested in him. That’s why he ran to serve on the Tonka Bay City Council, where he advocated on behalf of a local citizens' task force to help make streets safer for families and children. He’s kept a close eye on budgets and city expenditures to keep taxes low.

Values

Adam is committed to making sure every Minnesota family has a chance to achieve the American Dream. In Congress, he will work to strengthen our economy by creating good-paying, local jobs. A proven financial manager, Adam will focus on fiscal discipline so our budget and our tax code support our strategic goals. He will fight to protect health care, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from a hostile administration.

Most importantly, Adam will always tell us where he stands and will listen to the needs of our district, representing our interests.  Adam is not a politician; he is businessman, a veteran, a husband, a father, and a person of faith.
